- Personal Information: If you sign up for an account or join our "Founding Members" program, we may collect your Name and Email Address.
- Device Information: We collect device identifiers (Device ID) and usage data to ensure the App functions correctly on your specific device.
- Crash & Performance Data: We use tools like Google Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous logs when the App crashes to help us fix bugs.
3. Sensitive Permissions & Usage Data
To function as a distraction blocker, FreeInFive requires specific device permissions, which differ by platform. On Android these are system permissions; on iOS the App uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework. We value your privacy and limit how this data is used.
Usage Stats (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS):
- Why we need it: The App monitors which applications you are using (e.g., Instagram, TikTok) to enforce the time limits you set.
- How it is processed: This monitoring happens locally on your device. We do not upload your browsing history, message content, or list of installed apps to our servers for advertising purposes. Usage data is strictly used to trigger the "Block" or "Nudge" features.
Overlay Permission (Android):
Required to display the "Wall" (blocking screen) over other apps.
Screen Time, Notifications & Camera (iOS):
- Screen Time access: On iOS, the App uses Apple's Family Controls, Device Activity, and Managed Settings frameworks to monitor usage of the apps you select and apply your limits and app shields. This is processed on-device, and FreeInFive cannot see the content of those apps.
- Notifications (optional): Used only to deliver soft-limit reminder nudges, with your consent. The App remains functional if you decline.
- Camera (optional): Requested only when you start an on-device exercise challenge in Earn Scroll (for example, arm raises or push-ups). No video is recorded, stored, or uploaded.
4. How We Use Your Data
We use the collected data for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain the App's blocking features.
- To notify you about changes to our service.
- To provide customer support.
- To monitor the usage of the App to detect, prevent, and fix technical issues.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
We may employ third-party companies to facilitate our Service. These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
