About the Role

Bloomeasy is building FreeInFive, a mobile app that helps people break free from compulsive social media scrolling without creating frustration. We use a tiered intervention system—gentle nudges and mindful overrides—to help users reclaim their time and attention.

We're a lean founding team with a clear product vision, detailed technical roadmap, and deep conviction about the problem we're solving. You'll be our founding engineer, leading development of the FreeInFive mobile app from ground zero to App Store/Play Store launch.

In this role, you'll have a strong say in product decisions, tech stack choices, and architecture. Your decisions shape one of our core portfolio applications.

What You'll Do

  • Build cross-platform mobile app in Flutter (iOS + Android)
  • Integrate with Supabase (Auth, Database, Real-time features)
  • Implement push notification system for gentle intervention nudges
  • Develop native platform integrations via platform channels: iOS Screen Time API (Swift) and Android UsageStatsManager (Kotlin)
  • Build on-device ML for exercise detection (camera-based)
  • Create background monitoring and usage tracking systems
  • Establish clean, scalable architecture that grows with the team

Who We're Looking For

  • 1-5 years Flutter experience with 2+ shipped apps (GitHub + App/Play Store links required)
  • Supabase experience or strong familiarity with similar BaaS platforms (Firebase, AWS Amplify)
  • Native platform knowledge: At least basic exposure to iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin) development, understanding of Platform Channels OR strong willingness to learn
  • AI coding tools proficiency: Must be comfortable using Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI coding assistants. You should know how to leverage AI to write better code faster. This is non-negotiable—we work smart, not just hard.
  • Portfolio that speaks for itself: Clean GitHub profile with actual projects (not just forked repos). Code quality matters more than quantity. Bonus: Apps with native integrations (camera, notifications, background tasks)
  • Nice-to-haves: Push notification implementation (FCM), state management patterns (Riverpod, Provider, Bloc), experience building with Flutterflow, health/wellness or productivity app experience, previous startup experience
