About the Role

You will be the technical ceiling of the organization. We are moving from simple logic to complex AI agents and model fine-tuning.

You will take ownership of the AI stack, deciding when to use an API, when to use RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), and when to fine-tune a local model (Llama/Mistral) for performance and privacy.

What You'll Do

  • Architect L2 AI Systems: Move us beyond basic LLM prompting. Build agentic workflows (LangChain/AutoGPT), vector search architectures (RAG), and memory management systems for our users
  • Productionize AI: Take Python notebooks and research concepts and turn them into scalable, low-latency production APIs that serve thousands of concurrent users
  • Model Optimization: Work on quantizing and optimizing models to run efficiently (cost and speed), potentially exploring on-device AI for our mobile apps
  • Technical Authority: You will be the smartest person in the room regarding Data Science and AI. You will vet technical feasibility and tell the founders what is actually possible versus what is hype
  • Code & Conquer: This is an IC (Individual Contributor) role first. You will write the core Python backend, set up the vector databases (Pinecone/Milvus), and integrate with our Node/Flutter stack

Who We're Looking For

  • You are 'Senior' by output, not just years. You have shipped AI/ML products to production users, not just researched them in a lab
  • Master of the Stack - Languages: Python (Non-negotiable mastery), C++ (Bonus)
  • AI Frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, HuggingFace, LangChain/LlamaIndex
  • Architecture: Experience with Vector DBs (Milvus, Weaviate, Pinecone) and orchestration
  • Beyond the Wrapper: You know how to fine-tune a model (LoRA, PEFT). You understand embeddings deeply. You aren't just an 'API caller'
  • Execution First: We move fast. You prefer shipping an 80% perfect model today over a 99% perfect model next month
  • The 'Better' Factor: You are comfortable auditing the work of other senior engineers and raising the bar for code quality and architectural integrity
